The last meeting of the memorandum drafting sub-committee which was constituted on October 2 8 in accordance with a decision adopted at a meeting of all political parties was held today and the process of drafting a memorandum has completed.
The committee was constituted in connection with the Government of India's talk with NSCN(IM) .
However, no representative of Congress party took part in any meeting of the
memorandum drafting subcommittee.
The last meeting of the sub-committee headed by Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar as chairman was held today at his office and it was attended by representatives of CPI and Trinamool Congress.
Before the draft memorandum was completed today, the sub-committee held two meetings earlier on November 1 and November 14 .
Y Joykumar said that the memorandum drafting subcommittee was constituted as it is expected that the political dialogue going on between the Government of India and NSCN-IM may arrive at something concrete by December.
The draft memorandum would be submitted to the Chief Minister within a couple of days.
After that, an all-party meeting would be held to finalise the memorandum as soon as possible, said the Deputy Chief Minister.
After finalising the memorandum, the same will be submitted to the Prime Minister.
He said, proposals and suggestions made by the members representing different political parties were noted in the meetings before drafting the memorandum concerning the issue.
Members cutting across party lines are of the opinion that territorial integrity of Manipur should not be compromised while bringing a solution ter the ongoing Indo-Naga peace talk, Joykumar added.
