SHDDC meets President

Imphal, August 17 2011:
A team comprising of MLAs, members of ADC, former MPs and SHDDC who have been camping in New Delhi since August 13/14, and seeking appointment with the Prime Minister, today met President Pratibha Devisingh Patil at Rastrapati Bhavan and submitted a memorandum asking her intervention in the vexed political stalemate in Manipur.
A memorandum submitted to the president of India and made available to the press stated "In spite of being the most peaceful and patient citixens in Manipur for the last 39 years, the state government continues to deny the rights of our people unreasonably� provoked our sentiments and tested our patience which compelled us to rise and determine our future" .
