One day mega health camp conducted

A mega health camp was held today at the relief camp opened at Kakching Higher Secondary School by the Committee for Peace and Social Harmony, Head Office Kakching.
The one day mega health camp was jointly organised by the Lions Club of Imphal Leimarol: Lions Club of Kakching Greater; Kakching Municipal Council and former MLA of Kakching AC Yengkhom Surchandra under the aegis of Lions Club International District - 322D .
A team of doctors examined around 250 inmates of the relief camp for various health issues and were provided free medicines as well.
A number of medical tests were also done during the camp.
With regards to the camp, Lions Club of Imphal Leimarol president Tayenjam Kunjarani said that in today's camp, cervical and breast cancer detection were also done as a part of the permanent project of Lions Club of Imphal Leimarol.
At the sidelines of the health camp, Yengkhom Surchandra interacted with the inmates of the relief camp and motivated them to stay strong and be optimistic amid this grim situation.
Terming that the recent outburst of communal conflict as really unfortunate, Surchandra said that the long tradition of peaceful existence among various communities should be strengthened so as to protect the unity and integrity of the State.
He appealed to all to be cautious of unwanted influence created by people with vested interests to disrupt the harmonious existence in the State.
Lastly, he appealed for peace and restraint in the State and should extend best possible support in the measures taken up by the Central and State Government in this regard.
