CADA continues its campaign against consumption of illicit substances

Imphal, January 14 2022:
A meeting was conducted as a part of Coalition Against Drugs & Alcohol (CADA)'s campaign under the banner of 'People's responsibility in curbing the consumption of illicit substances during election' on January 13 .
In a statement, CADA informed that the discussion session was held yesterday at the residence of Md Saheed located at Lilong Kaleikhong, Thoubal district around 8 am.
The meeting was attended by Hijam Priyokumar, president CADA and Ningthoujam Doren, vice president CADA.
Separately, a meeting was also conducted at Khangabok Part III Makha Leikai jointly organised by Popular Youth Union Club, Rising Union Club, Khangabok Part III Meira Paibi, Cherapur Youth Development Committee and CADA.
The meeting was attended by Moirangthem Malemjao, Nominee, Pradhan, Khangabok Part III GP; Moirangthem Basanti, senior meira paibi and Hijam Priyokumar, CADA president.
Resource persons Ningthoujam Doren and Dipanjit Ningthoujam of CADA were also present.
Addressing the gathering, Moirangthem Malemjao stressed on the importance of local clubs and meira paibis in curbing the use of illicit substances.
Hijam Priyokumar stated that people involved in pre-poll violence and those affected by the scourge of illicit substances are our brethren, hence, everyone must unite to fight against substance abuse.
A resolution was passed during the meeting for CADA to join hands with All Clubs Co-ordinating Khangabok, which is the apex body of 21 clubs of the region, to conduct a public meeting to promote the curbing of illicit substances in election related events.
