State level seminar on Yoga starts

A three day State level seminar on Yoga and Naturopathy was inaugurated at IMA Hall, Lamphelpat under the aegis of Directorate of Ayush Lamphelpat and Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy (CCRYN), Ministry of Ayush, New Delhi, today.
Health and Family Welfare and Ayush, Minister L Jayantakumar Singh, Director, Ayush, Manipur, Dr A Guneshwor Sharma, Director, Health and Family Welfare, Dr K Rajo Singh and Additional Director/Member Secretary, EC State Ayush Society, Dr Y Lukhoi Singh attended the event as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.
Speaking at the event, L Jayantakumar said that Ayush is now known all over the world.
He said that the result for the recruitment of 5 MOs of Yoga and Yunani are pending at MPSC as most of the candidates failed to reach the desirable marks.
However, the Department is trying to work out the issue and declare the results at the earliest, he added.
On the other hand, only 54 candidates passed in the written test of the examination for the recruitment of 300 Allopathy MOs.
He said that the Department will consider the steps to be taken up after the accommodation letter arrives from MPSC.
The Minister also explained that there is plan to recruit three Ayurvedic MOs and 10 Homeo doctors but they are pending due to a Court case.
On the other hand, Dr K Rajo stressed on the importance of Yoga in the modern society where depression and anxiety are rampant.
