Imphal, January 11 2018:
Works Minister Thongam Biswajit has claimed that the BJP led State Government is working tirelessly to bring good governance in the State as well as to ensure that the poor and the needy get maximum benefits from the schemes provided by the Government.
He made the statement at the inauguration function of the 8th Tangkhul-Naga Zingtun Longphang Sports cum Cultural festival at Ngainga village, Ukhrul, today.
Speaking at the event, Th Biswajit said that it is the aim of the Government to bring development to the underprivileged people as well as the remote areas.
Then only can there be peace and unity in the State.
Just like the Prime Minister gives extra emphasis to the poor people of the Nation, the State Government is also working tirelessly for the welfare of the people of the State, he claimed.
The State Government is committed to ensuring maximum benefits for the people through its schemes.
Biswajit explained that a good Government needs to be accountable, transparent, efficient and responsible.
Observing that the antics of the past Governments had created a divide between the people of the hills and the valley, the new BJP State Government, led by Chief Minister N Biren Singh took up numerous developmental projects under the theme 'Go to Hills'.
Now, the bond between the hills and the valley has improved considerably and the people's trust in the Government has also increased, he added.
Biswajit said that the State Government is working to bring all round equal development for the hills and the valley and added that unity and harmony are possible only when there is inclusive development.
Assuring that the State Government will continue listening to the plight of the people from remote hill areas, the Minister also lauded the Governor of the State stating that it is indeed fortunate for the people of the State to have a Governor who cares for the people.
MLA of Phungyar AC, Leishiyo Keishing and Ukhrul DC, Harmit Singh Pahuja were also present at the event.
