'Be a healthy mother for a healthy child'

Health and Family Welfare Minister L Jayantakumar singh has said that mothers need to live with a sound health and sound mind so that their children become healthy .
He was addressing the National Deworming Day observance at Ramlal Paul Higher Secondary School today.
Speaking as chief guest, Minister Jayantakumar maintained that keeping the health of the children sound is just like keeping our pillar of the future strong .
He said that we need to focus on our young children for building a healthy Nation .
He asserted that different Government Departments especially the Family Welfare and Social Welfare Department are putting a lot of efforts to bring up our children in a good shape .
In this regard, a collective effort of all the Government departments is required, he added .
Explaining about the connectivity between health and mind, the Minister said that children who have frequent sickness are unable to learn fast in their studies .
He expressed that new diseases at the present society has become a big challenge that need to overcome by all means so to establish a disease free society .
The Minister also advocated about the necessity of deworming of children which is to be started from tomorrow .
Attending the function as president, Parliamentary Secretary (Health and Family Welfare) S Subhachandra Singh said that an united effort is necessary to make the Deworming Campaign successful .
He also narrated about his past days when there was no deworming medicines .

Director Health Services and RK Kenedy Singh, Addl.
Director Education (S) as president and guests of honour respectively .
Staff of Health and Family Welfare, NHM, teachers and students of Ramlal Paul Higher Secondary School were also present at the function.
Cultural programmes were presented by the school students to mark the occasion.
