Death of Thiyam Shyamo : Bandh supporters block Tiddim road, call off after assurance

Tiddim road at Keinou was blocked from 7 am to 10 am today by the members of JAC Against Brutal Killing of Thiyam Shyamo and members of different Clubs and Meira Paibees of Keinou in protest against the failure of the authority concerned to book the persons involved in the killing of Thiyam Shyamo of Keinou Awang Leikai, who was found death mysteriously inside the truck at Irengbam Mamang Leikai under Nambol Police Station on April 30.The bandh supporters later called off their agitation after MLA L Radhakeshore gave assurance to arrest the culprits within 5 days.
The bandh supporters blocked many vehicles that were plying on the roads during their protest demonstration but emergency, medical, religious and educational related services were relaxed and allowed to move by them.
On receiving the news that Tiddim road was blocked at Keinou, top officials of Bishnupur District police including SP Hopson Sapam and other police personnel rushed to the spot to thwart any unwanted incidents.
MLA L Radhakeshore also rushed to the area to pacify the bandh supporters and assured them that all the culprits involved in the killing will be booked within 5 days.
JAC Convenor H Sanjoy, while speaking to the media persons, stated that their agitation will be lifted till May 9 following the assurance of the MLA but intense agitation will be launched from May 10 if the promise is not translated into action.
