Imphal, September 05 2019:
The All Manipur Bulk LPG Transporters Association has decided to cease loading of LPG from September 7 but unloading and movement of loaded TTs will continue as usual.
LPG bulk transporters have been compelled to launch the cease work strike as the IOCL has not taken up any step to accommodate the LPG TTs which are being kept in the waiting list for transportation of LPG to the State, said a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister by the association yesterday.
During a joint meeting held on September 7 last year with Chief Minister N Biren in the chair, IOCL officials assured LPG bulk transporters that LPG TTs in waiting list would be made operational by December 2018.Nonetheless, it acknowledged the efforts of the Chief Minister as well as the CAF&PD Minister towards induction of the TTs on waiting list for transportation of LPG to the State.
However, nothing positive has come out so far.
As such, the association has been compelled to resort to a non cooperation movement.
All Sekmai based TTs would stop operating from September 7 till the demand of inducting TTs on waiting list is met, it added.
