Tamenglong JAC demands ex-gratia Tata Sumo mishap

Imphal, August 03 2012:
The Joint Action Committee (JAC) on Bus Accident-Tml-Duigailong, Tamenglong District, Manipur has demanded ex-gratia/interim relief for the next of kin of those killed and injured in the Tata Sumo- MM-01k-8779 mishap which was happened between Khongshang-Irang (NH-37) on July 20 last.
Submitting a memorandum to the Chief Minister and the Transport Minister in this regard, the JAC has also demanded stricture from the Directorate of Transport, Government of Manipur for plying only insured vehicles along Imphal Tamenglong Road.
The memorandum also informed that the death toll in the mishap has risen to 5 as the seriously injured Gaigangmei Remei (25), S/O Khubi Remei of Khoupum Duithangjang village died after three days of being discharged from Shija Hospital.
The four other victims who died in the accidents are Wimajangliu, W/O M.Wiriangbou (42) of Tharon village, Rangjailiu (23) W/O I.D.Wirangbou of Namtiram, Phillip Gonmei S/O Makubampou (25) of Namkaolong in Khoupum, Oinam Anand Singh (40) S/O (L) Apabi of Chirai Mayai Leikai, and Gaingangmei Raimei (25) S/O Khubi Raimei of Duithanjang.
The four persons, who injured in the accident, namely Lungninggan Kamei (30), S/O Kabuingak of Khoupum Satudai, Gaisingam (24), S/O Adumei of Namkaolong (RIMS), I.D.Wirangbu (30) H/O (L) Rangjailiu of Namtiram and M.Wiriangbou, H/O (L) Wimajangliu of Tharon are still under treatment, the memorandum added.
