Imphal, November 29 2021:
Md Sakir Ahamad, who is preparing to contest the upcoming election in Wabagai AC has joined Janata Dal-United (JDU) today.
Md Sakir Ahamad was welcomed to the party by JDU State president Hangkhanpao Taithul and other JDU leaders at its office in Keishamthong Hodam Leirak Machin.
Speaking at the programme, Hangkhanpao Taithul said Bihar, which once used to be known as a centre for gangs and under-developed villages have now seen the light of development under the able leadership of Nitish Kumar leading the JDU in Bihar.
Similar developments can be brought to the State if the people give JDU a chance to serve the people of the State, he added.
The BJP led Government in the State is completing its 5 years term, but during the last 5 years, no formidable works have been taken up except inauguration of some projects started by the previous Congress Governments and launching of Central Flagship Programmes, he added.
The BJP led Government has performed worse than the Congress Government, he alleged.
Welcoming Sakir Ahamad to the party, Hangkhanpao Taithul said the party was glad that hard working and selfless youth like Md Sakir Ahamad was joining the JDU fold.
He added that JDU prefers honest people like Sakir Ahamad in place of people who ventured into politics after earning tonnes of money from unscrupulous sources.
Sakir Ahamad said he had joined JDU after considering the corruption free and development oriented principles of JDU leader Nitish Kumar and after due deliberation with the people of Wabagai AC with the aim of bringing about a change for good in the constituency.
