8 Outer candidates pass scrutiny

All the 8 candidates who submitted their names for scrutiny in connection with the coming Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency election, have been approved.
The scrutiny was held today at DC/DEO Thoubal in the presence of observers concerned.
The last date for filing nomination paper is March 28.The candidates who submitted their nomination paper for the Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency include Benjamin Mate for BJP, Thangminlien Kipgen for NPP, James Kashung for INC, T Hangkhanpau for JDU, Lorho S for NPF, Ashang Kasar for NEIDP, Angam Karung for NCP and L Kaipu as independent candidate.
There are a total of 1561 polling stations for Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency and 4,93,597 male voters, 5,12,606 female voters, 11,097 service voters and 11 third gender voters.
Voting day will be April 11.The votes will be counted on May 23 .
On the penultimate day, six candidates for Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency filed their nomination papers for at the office of the Returning Officer No 1/District Election Officer, Imphal West, at Lamphelpat yesterday.
The six candidates include Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh of BJP, Oinam Nabakishore Singh of INC, Moirangthem Nara Singh of CPI, Senjam Nandishwore Singh of Rashtriya Janhit Sangharsh Party (RJSP), Dr Gurumayum Tonsana Sharma of Manipur Democratic People's Front (MDPF) and Independent candidate Rajkumar Somendro Singh (Kaiku) .
A total number of 15 nomination papers were filed by the six candidates of which Moirangthem Nara Singh (CPI) and Oinam Nabakishore Singh (INC) filed four nomination papers each, while Dr Rajkumar Ranjan Singh (BJP) filed three nominations, Rajkumar Somendro Singh (IND) two and one each by Senjam Nandishwore Singh (RJSP) and Dr Gurumayum Tonsana Sharma (MDPF) .
On the other hand, RK Anand (NEIDP), O Jugindro (MPP), M Totomsana Nongshaba (MPP), Wahengbam Pobitra (Independent) and Md Eliyas (Independent) filed nomination papers for contesting in Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency election today, thus bringing the number to 11.The scrutiny of nominations for the Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency will be held on March 27 .
