AMGSU celebrates 54th 'Foundation Day' at Kalapahar

The All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union celebrated its 54th 'Foundation Day' at Vidya Bharati Dr Kharel Bal Vidya Mandir Kalapahar on Saturday.
The event was attended by Thangkhochon Haokip, MPS, Additional SP(LO), Kangpokpi; Lhingneikim Kipgen, ZEO Kangpokpi and LB Adhikari, President AMGSU as presidium members.
AMGSU unit of Irang Part-I, Senapati, Kanglatongbi, Pangei, Toribari/Kangpokpi, Motbung, Charhajare and leaders of various Gorkha civil society organizations also took part in the event hosted by AMGSU Kalapahar Unit.
Speaking on the occasion, Lhingneikim Kipgen, ZEO Kangpokpi stressed on the importance of education and highlighted the various aspects in the educational sector and the role of student bodies.
Thangkhochon Haokip while congratulating the All Manipur Gorkha Students' Union on its 54th Foundation Day, lauded the Union for its past constructive activities in the society in the field of education and helping the Government agencies during the pandemic.
Homnath Chapagain, publicity secretary of AMGSU said that during the occasion winners of AMGSU's Debate Competition were awarded during the prize distribution conducted by AMGSU Education Secretary Janak Poudhyal while judges who helped during the debate competition were also honored.
He continued that the union also felicitated Bhawani Adhikari, president of Nepali Sahitya Parishad Manipur for achieving the Sahitya Akademi Translation Award 2020 while honoring all the members who took an active part during the recently conducted Gorkha population survey.
The event culminated after a presidential speech from LB Adhikari and vote of thanks by Homnath Chapagain.
