Police, AR drive out workers from Myanmar

Moreh, March 24 2020:
At a time when the deadly coronavirus COVID-19 has claimed the lives of over 17,000 people worldwide, workers from Myanmar were found working at Kwatha Khunou and Moulphai Village, which is located between Border Pillars 81 and 82 .
The workers from the neighbouring country, which has reported two COVID-19 cases as of now, were drove away from the villages by a team of Tengnoupal police and 20 Assam Rifles.
The villagers were advised to not allow entry of foreign Nationals, apart from giving awareness on COVID-19 by the combined team.
On the other, a team of Primary Health Centre Moreh led by MO in-charge Kh Santikumar took out a publicity campaign in 15 villages of Moreh Block namely H Mongjang, B Bongjang, Chatong, K Zalenmoul, T Zamunnom, S Khudengthabi, New Mongjang, Chikim, M Chahnou, Yangoutubi, Yangoupokpi, Govajang, Chavangphai, S Moljol and Moreh Bazar to contain the spread of COVID-19 .
It is also reported that Moreh town wore a deserted look, following the lockdown imposed by the State Government.
