MMWO to conduct drive to check price hike

Imphal, April 21 2021:
Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO) appealed to all the retail traders, dealers, shop keepers and all the concerned not to increase the price of the essential commodities from the normal rates amid the difficult situation of the second wave of Covid pandemic.
A press statement of MMWO said that taking advantage of the second wave of Covid pandemic, some dealers and traders have increased the prices of essential commodities which have added extra burden to the daily wage workers and the public in general therefore MMWO urged all the concerned not to resort to such acts taking into consideration the plight of the people.
MMWO also appealed to all the shop keepers to put a price list in front of the shops and the public to check the retail prices properly before purchasing anything.
Regarding the unreasonable price hike, MMWO will conduct drive in different areas of the State and sought the support and cooperation from CSOs, clubs, meira paibis and locals for the cause and to provide appropriate punishments as per law if found selling the commodities against the normal price.
Lastly the organisation appealed the Government to intervene into the matter and take strict action against those concerned.
