Foundation stones laid for 4 water supply schemes

Education Minister S Rajen Singh has laid foundation stones for water supply schemes at four different locations in Lamsang Assembly Constituencies (AC) today.
He laid foundation stones at Tingri, Mayang-langjing Taning, Heibongpokpi and Haorangsabal under Jal Jeevan Mission.
Speaking to media per-sons at Mayanglangjing Taning after the laying of the new water supply scheme, Rajen said that the new water supply projects will address the inconveniences being faced by the people of Lamsang AC regarding drinking water.
He maintained that the Central and State Governments have been taking up many programmes for welfare of the public.
The State Government is taking up projects to improve connectivity.
Mutual relationship amongst different communities have improved.
The Government will continue working in the interest of the people, he added.
Rajen instructed the contractors concerned and officials of the Public Health Engineering Department to start works on the projects as soon as possible.
He also assured upgradation ofLambal, Maharabi, Khamaran, Awangkhunou, Heibirok, Khonghampat, Potsangbam, Tharoijam water supply schemes.
The upgradation work for these water supply schemes will be done under NEDP.
When the water supply schemes being taken up under Jal Jeevan Mission and NEDP in the Constituency are made fully functional, every household in Lamsang will have access to clean and safe drinking water, he said.
He also highlighted various initiatives and achievements of the Government particularly in education and fishery sectors.
He said that under the School Fagathanshi Mission, the Government has constructed new buildings for select schools across the State.
Old buildings have been renovated and beautification of the schools are underway.
Rajen also appealed youths of the State to join skill development and vocational programmes and employ themselves.
The State Government is always ready to help and provide assistance to startups and entrepreneurs, he added.
The Minister was accompanied by PHE, Imphal West Division Executive Engineer N Sanjitkumar, Assistant Engineer, P Bush Singh and other officials.
Local leaders and representatives of clubs were also present.
