Uripok Green City launched : PHFCL set to build Rs 10 cr recreation center

"The Uripok Green City", an initiative undertaken by Panthoibi Housing Finance Company Limited (PHFCL) with the objective of bringing sustainable development in Uripok area and easing traffic congestion on the road leading to Thangal Bazar and Paona Bazar was launched today at Classic Grande, Chingmeirong.
Chairman and Managing Director, Panthoibi Housing Finance Company Limited, Th Hemo who presided over the launching ceremony said that the ambitious initiative was taken up as per the wish of the people of Uripok, who want development and smooth traffic flow in the area .
He said that the company had approached them to seek suggestions on development works that can be executed by the company in the area .
Conceding that many youth of the State, who aim to become successful entrepreneurs got dissapointed when they approached banks for getting loan, he divulged that 25 percent of the total fund of the company has been earmarked for them.
The remaining 75 percent of the fund is for housing loan, he added .
He disclosed that the company is also planning to take up other initiatives including construction of real estate and a center for recreational purposes with an estimate value of Rs 10 crore in different places of the State .
Attending as chief guest, Deputy Chief Minister Y Joykumar maintained that 12,646 people have been given loans under Pradhan Mantri MUDRA Yojana in the State .
He opined that there will be no economy improvement in a State unless its people do not involve in economic activities .
He also observed that engaging every jobless people in the State in suitable enterprising works like poultry farming, fishery farming, piggery farming and production of fermented dried fish would go a long way towards improving economy of the State .
If economic activities could be carried out in mass scale through certain Government financial and support services scheme, then it will be possible to retain and have sustainable economic growth, he added .
He asked banks and authorities concerned to identify genuine needy persons among the loan seekers of MUDRA Yojana and properly explain them about the scheme .
The Deputy CM said that he is considering proposals for selling the local brew outside the State to generate economy .
Education Minister Thokchom Radheshyam who attended the occasion as guest of honor urged the people to use local products to improve the financial status of the State .
He said that loan and grants are means to facilitate people to make them capable to stand independently .
He also asked all the financial companies in the State to promote healthy competition among them and co-operate each other in eradicating poverty from the State.
