GMPC meets Heptulla ahead of Jan 23 talk

Imphal, January 18 2017:
Governor Dr Najma Heptulla has consulted representatives of Goodwill Mission for Peaceful Co-existence (GMPC) regarding the tripartite talk scheduled on January 23 .
Speaking to media persons at Adimjati Complex today, GMPC convenor Ningthouja Lancha said that the Governor was supportive of the tripartite talk and hoped for normalisation of the tense situation ahead of the election.
According to him, the Governor also appreciated the constraint exercised by the people of the State despite enduring various hardships due to the economic blockade.

Lancha pointed out that representatives of the GMPC will meet United Naga Council (UNC) leaders prior to the January 23 talks which will be held at Old Secretariat.
"During our meeting with the UNC, we will discuss various aspects about the coming tripartite talks", he said adding that at an earlier meeting between the two bodies, they had agreed hold to talk without putting any condition.
The GMPC team who met the Governor today included convenor Ningthouja Lancha, Ashang Kasar (secretary), Chandra Haomei (co-convenor), Abdullah Pathan (co-convenor), Haopu Kom (co-convenor), David Shimray (co-convenor), Churamani (co-convenor) and C Santosh (co-convenor) .
