Thoubal, October 17 2014 :
Un-happy with the State Government holding back Rs 12.15 crore which the Central Government had released on September 22 under Border Region Grant Fund 2014-15 for Chandel district, the District Vigilance Committee (DVC) Chandel has urged the state Government to immediately release the same to DRDA Chandel.
A statement issued by DVC Chandel president BD Betha said the untimely release of fund would lead to a lapse of fund owing to late submission of utilization certificates by the DRDA similar to the lapse of fund that Churachandpur, Senapati and Chandel district had experienced in the previous year.
The final bill for construction of ring well under MOBC programme for the year 2008-09 has not been released till now.
similar schemes like financial assistance for housing schemes have also been neglected and kept pending by the authority, it added.
Programme of MOBC/MSDP facilities for ST/SCs are not fully initiated by the government, it alleged.
It further appealed to ministers concerned to look into the matter considering the welfare of the minorities and backward people.
