Kangpokpi, March 15 2018:
The Kuki Students' Organization (KSO) Sadar Hills has decided to cancel its decision to boycott the Prime Minister's visit to the State tomorrow as well as withdraw the 12 hours proposed total shutdown the same day after receiving positive response from the State Government.
The student body had declared to boycott the proposed Prime Minister visit to the State and announced a 12 hour total shutdown on the same day in Sadar Hills alleging the State Government of repeatedly failing to deliver its commitment over the issue of National Sports University.
According to the president of KSO Sadar Hills, Thangminlen Kipgen, the decision to cancel and withdraw its boycott and total shutdown, was taken after prompt response and assurance by the Minister concerned, Letpao Haokip and Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister, Nemcha Kipgen, early this morning.
"The Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Letpao Haokip and Nemcha Kipgen assured us to fulfil all the earlier promises of the State Government in connection with the National Sports University at Haraothel in Kangpokpi district", asserted Thangminlen Kipgen.
The student body also expressed belief that the State Government will no longer play with the sentiments of its own people with regard to the University.
It also urged the people to have faith in the State Government and at the same time maintain their support and cooperation towards KSO Sadar Hills in its endeavour to resolve the issues of NSU in Haraothel, Kangpokpi district amicably.
