Govt offices inaugurated at Machi block

The state government on Monday inaugurated three renovated Government offices at Machi block.
The inaugurated offices are Machi Police Station, a 33/11 KV Power Sub-station and a BDO Integrated Infrastructure Complex.
District administration of Chandel organised the inauguration function.
Chief Minister O Ibobi, Deputy CM Gaikhangam, IFCD minister Ngamthong Haokip, Tengnoupal MLA D Korunthang, Kakching MLA Y Surchandra, Hiyanglam MLA E Dwijamani, Wabagai MLA Fazur Rahim and Kumbi MLA S Bira attended the function.
Top officials of district administration, ADC members of Chandel and other important leaders also attended the inauguration.
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi reiterated that his Government is keeping development of hill areas as a major priority and added that hill areas of Manipur will undergo a major developmental makeover so that no employees will have the disappointment of being posted at remote hill areas.

Talking about the BDO Complex, he said that the integrated complex has been set up to bring about 'inclusive infrastructure' and similar emphasis will be given to the rest of the districts of Manipur.
Infrastructural development to all the hill-area blocks has been taken up with 12 crore each for the block from Special Assistance Plan (SPA) fund.
Rs 300 crore has been reserved from this fund for other development, he added.
Ibobi expressed his pleasure in seeing the newly developed Machi village and promised that roads, health sector and banking sector in this particular block will also be developed.
There also plans to upgrade the health centre to the level of CHC and PHC .
He expressed his willingness to establish a full-fledged SDO office of this block.
Deputy CM Gaikhangam also spoke in similar lines on the State Government's special priority to hill areas and said that in the past 12-13 years, Manipur has been witnessing development in remote hill areas like never before.
He promised that Machi block will be made fully functional and appealed public of hill areas not to disturb the smooth functioning of government employees when they are posted in such remote areas.
Tengnoupal MLA Korunthang thanked the State Government for paying attention to Machi, he said that the collective happiness and development of the people will contribute in the overall development of the state too.
He appealed to the public to render full co-operation to the Government and added that without good roads and transport, remote areas of the state will not be developed.
