WY tablets worth Rs 10 Cr seized

Moreh, March 13 2023:
A huge quantity of WY tablets smuggled from across Indo-Myanmar border was seized by troops of 5th AR today.
Acting on a specific tip off, AR troops laid an ambush near border pillar number 79 .
At around 9 am, the troops saw one man carrying a carton trying to cross into the Indian side.
As the AR troops challenged him to stop, he dropped the carton and fled away into Myanmar territory.
On checking the carton, a huge quantity of WY tablets weighing 20.625 Kgs (including weight of the packaging material) was found.
The WY tablets which were seized by the AR troops were later handed over to Moreh police station and its value in the international market is said to be around Rs 10 crore.
On the other hand, Tengnoupal police recovered 2.987 Kgs of brown sugar from the possession of one Seiminlal Baite (29) s/o Holkhai Baite of Mongjang village, Khudengthabi.
The contraband drug packed in 72 soap cases was recovered while checking an auto-rickshaw at Tengnoupal police check-post at around 8.45 am today.
Seiminlal Baite was driving the auto-rickshaw.
As such, he was arrested on the spot.
