Villagers of Tengnoupal welcome State Government's decision

Villagers of Tengnoupal have welcomed the historic and remarkable decision of creating seven new revenue districts for administrative convenience by the State Government.
Addressing media persons today, Tengnoupal village chief H Thangkhulen Mate expressed his gratitude to the State Government led by Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh for creating new revenue districts including Tengnoupal.
He stated that newly created districts will facilitate accelerated development in the area.
Villagers of Tengnoupal and other villages of the newly created Tengnoupal district will extend full support to the State Government in bringing growth and development in the district.
He also urged the State Government and its agencies concerned to initiate necessary developmental steps as soon as possible.
Meanwhile president of Kuki Student Organisation (KSO), Tengnoupal Block Daniel Mate also conveyed his gratitude on behalf of the people for creating Tengnoupal district.
He mentioned that Tengnoupal was a full-fledged district between 1960 and 1974 after the district headquarters was shifted to Chandel by then Chief Minister Mohammad Alimuddin.
The move of the State Government led by Chief Minister O Ibobi has fulfilled the long cherished dream of the people.
It may be mentioned that people of Tengnoupal have formed a district demand committee on November 22, 2006 .
Further Daniel stated that the demand for a new revenue district was not based on ethnic ground but on administrative conveniences.
The newly carved Tengnoupal district will incorporate Moreh, Machi and Tengnoupal sub-division which was earlier within Chandel district.
He stated that the people of Tengnoupal will renovate and clean the yet to be inaugurated SDO/BDO office for the official staffs to accommodate comfortably.
Daniel expressed hope that the State Government will take up prompt steps to set up all the required infrastructure in no time.
The media interaction session was also attended by the vice president of Tengnoupal Youth Club Shokho Pao Mate.
