Importance of meeting the objectives of NEP 2020 highlighted

A 5-day training programme for elementary school teachers under ZEO Zone I, Imphal West and ZEO, Wangoi lacked off today at the premises of District Institute of Education & Training (DIET), Imphal West, Dhanamanjuri University Campus today.
The training programme was jointly organised by SCERT, Manipur in collaboration with DIET, Imphal West.
The inaugural function was attended by A Romel Singh, Professor, SCERT, Manipur (vocational education); L Gambhir Singh, Principal, DIET, Imphal West and L Khurschov Singh, Liaison Officer, SCERT Manipur as the chief guest, functional president and guest of honour respectively.
Delivering a speech as the chief guest, Professor A Romel Singh stated that it is the responsibility of those engaged in the education sector to ensure that the objectives of NEP 2020 are met along with providing benefits of the policy to students.
As a result, it is necessary to provide an appropriate training programme to teachers to equip them with the knowledge and skills required to change the direction of the education sector.
Speaking as the functional president L Gambhir Singh highlighted the duty of teachers to be aware of the new elements added and changes brought about in the NEP 2020.In this connection, both DIET and SCERT Manipur have consistently provided capacity training programmes, courses and academic support to teachers, he maintained.
He then appealed to the participating teachers to absorb the knowledge and information imparted during the 5-day training programme and take advantage of this opportunity.
Notably, around 50 primary and elementary school teachers under ZEO, Imphal West and ZEO, Wangoi participated in today's programme.
The training programme will conclude on December 14 .
