Imphal, March 09 2013 :
With a number of anti-drug campaigners suspecting his involvement in drug smuggling, social worker Okram Henry vehemently refuting the allegation clarified today that he has nothing to do with the seizure of huge psychotropic drugs from Tulihal Airport on January 11, 2013 .
With specific reference to an armed outfit (URF) claiming his involvement in the airport drug haul, Henry, who contested the 10th Manipur Legislative Assembly election from Wangkhei assembly constituency told newspersons at his Mantripukhri residence expressed shock on being linked with the drug haul from the Airport.
Regretting report in a State daily about URF accusing him in the illegal drug trade, Henry asserted that he is willing to face the music if the charges could be proved with evidence.
Welcoming investigation by any agency against him in the case, he also lamented dragging his deceased father's name in what he described as baseless and unfounded allegations.
Responding to a query, Henry clarified that he has nothing to do with newspaper reports that SIU Officer in-charge K Ranjit received a telephone call moments after the Airport drug haul.
He maintained that neither OC Ranjit nor any other police personnel were contacted by him on the particular day.
