Shops to open on rotation

Further relaxing the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown, the State Government has allowed shops dealing in certain items to re-open from tomorrow on rotational basis.
Shops located at Thangal Bazar and dealing in clothes, shoes, stationery items, sports materials, utensils and crockery may open on Mondays, according to an order issued by Chief Secretary Dr J Suresh Babu today.
Shops located at Paona Bazar and dealing in luggages/bags and stationery items may open on Mondays.
On Tuesdays, Thangal Bazar shops dealing in electrical items and paint may open.
Paona Bazar shops dealing in jewellery, cosmetic, eye glasses and photo studio may open on Tuesdays.
Thangal Bazar shops dealing in aluminium construction materials, plywood and utensils may open on Wednesdays.
Paona Bazar (eastern side) shops dealing in clothes and weaving yarn may open on Wednesdays.
On Thursdays, Thangal Bazar shops dealing in electronics/computers, mobiles and weaving yarn may open.
Paona Bazar shops dealing in bicycle, computer, glass, ply, mobile, electronics and dry cleaners may open on Thursdays.
Thangal Bazar shops dealing in motor parts, tyres and batteries may on Fridays.
Paona Bazar shops (western side) dealing in clothes may open on Fridays.
On Saturdays, Thangal Bazar shops dealing in hardware, sanitary fittings, tiles and marbles may open.
Paona bazar shops dealing in shoes, sports materials and eye glasses may open on Saturdays.
However, all small shops located in the lanes (gallis) of both Paona Bazar and Thangal Bazar are not allowed to open irrespective of the types of item they sell, mentioned the Chief Secretary's order.
The arrangement will continue till June 15 and shops will open from 6 am to 2 pm .
