Concrete Day celebrated

The Indian Concrete Institute, Manipur Centre celebrated Concrete Day at the State PWD conference hall today.
As chief guest of the celebration, former chairman of the Institute Th Joykumar that the annual event provides an opportunity for construction experts and workers to reassess the technological advancement made in road and building constructions.
Compared to the recent past when most construction activities were carried out by hands and was time consuming, involvement of highly efficient machines and workmen's tools these days has not only accelerated completion of the task at hand but is also proving helpful in quality control, said the retired PWD chief engineer.
Current ICI Manipur Centre chairman Kh Temba Singh and another former chairman M Lokendra Singh also graced the occasion as the functional president and guest of honour respectively.
At a technical session organised in connection with the celebration, vice president (E) ICI Dr S Saraswati elucidated on 'Durability of Concrete Structures & Related Issues' .
