Family members appeal to Dy CM

Family members of DG Ngasinpou has submitted a memorandum to Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, who also holds the Home portfolio requesting him to probe the case of Ngasinpou's mysterious death at Dimapur East Thana area on February 1, 2015 .
A statement issued by his nephew Gaikajab informed that DG Ngasinpou (59), s/o (L) DG Nambisinang of Sarungpang village, Tamenglong district visited him at Jalukei town, Peren district, Nagaland in January this year.
On January 31, Gaikajab escorted Ngansinpou to Jalukie Town bazar from where the deceased boarded a Tata Sumo for Dimapur.
Family members and relatives in both Nagaland and Manipur lost contact with Ngansinpou from January 31, the statement informed.
On March 2 Athui Goimei, nephew of the deceased, chanced upon a news item in Nagaland Post about the disposal of an unclaimed body at Dimapur.
As per the news item, a patrolling team of Dimapur police recovered an unidentified male body on February 1 at around 1500 hours from Burma camp police point, Dimapur.
Legal formalities, according to the news item, indicated that the deceased died a natural death.
The body was thus disposed off as unclaimed by the Government of Nagaland on March 2, 2015 .
The statement claimed that Ngansinpou did not have any recorded ailments and was strong enough to take care of himself.
Blaming the Nagaland Government of irresponsibility in protecting a civilian's life, the statement has further appealed the public and authorities concerned to help the deceased's family in securing justice for DG Ngasinpou.
