Chaga Ngee festival celebrated at Mumbai

The Liangmai community in Maharashtra celebrated the auspicious "Chaga Ngee", a festival of blessing and sanctification on October 29 at Andheri East, Mumbai.
Chaga Ngee festival is one of the biggest festivals of the Liangmai Naga Tribe.
It is a festival of victory, abundance, sanctification of the body & household and starting everything anew.
The festival reflects the rich culture, traditions, foods and lifestyle of the Liangmai people.
The event was graced by Dai Remmei, Additional Central Commissioner, Provident Fund, Ministry of Labour; Ngonamai Lydia Keishing, proprietor Chun Cham Fashion Saloon Mumbai; Dr M Maisuangdibo, Asst Professor Union Biblical Seminary Pune; Aking Niumei, session artiste; and Hollang Ngonamai, research scholar, JNU among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Dai Remmai conveyed that such festivals are essential for preserving the culture & tradition of the Liangmai Naga Tribe.
"It also helps in sensitising the public about the history & how the Makuiluangdimai brethren share the same attire, language, etc", said Dai Remmai.
