RPF castigates Amit Shah's visit

The proscribed RPF has alleged that Union Home Minister's visit to Imphal yesterday had nothing to do with development but it was aimed at consolidating the alien rule by dividing and exterminating the indigenous people.
A statement issued by the outfit's Publicity Deputy Secretary Roben Khuman asserted that COVID-19 was brought from India and 348 people have died of the virus due to negligence of the Government.
Even as the people of Manipur have been struggling to cope with the pandemic, Amit Shah engineered a huge gathering of thousands of people and this has created deeper apprehension among the masses in view of the discovery of a new coronavirus strain in the UK.
The way the State Government received Amit Shah amidst the COVID-19 pandemic was different from how other Indian leaders were received in the past.
Manipur cultural dance which enjoys a very high status was presented in the middle of the road and many people were made to stand by the road side and wave BJP flags.
All these activities point to an attempt to kill the people of Manipur en masse through COVID-19, the outfit alleged.
Fearing economic collapse, the Government of India lifted the lockdown phase but it led to sudden and sharp spike in the COVID-19 deaths and positive cases.
Even many non-COVID patients have died as they were denied medical attention in the absence of an exclusive Covid hospital in the State.
Many non-COVID patients got infected with COVED-19 as they were treated in the same hospitals where COVID patients were treated and some of them have died, it observed.
Organising a big public meeting by violating the COVID-19 SOP under the prevailing situation only points to a sinister attempt to kill all the people of Manipur, it alleged.
The by-election to four Assembly segments held in November multiplied COVID-19 cases in the State as thousands of innocent people were forced to mingle in the name of election rallies, campaigns and voting.
Amit Shah's claim that the BJP-led Government has done a lot for development of Manipur even though the previous Governments did very little did not sound anything new to the people of Manipur.
After the alleged forcible merger of Manipur into the Indian Union, there have been many Governments of different political parties but when it comes to development of Manipur, there is no difference between the incumbent BJP-led Government and the previous Governments.
People of Manipur are yet to fully enjoy many fundamental rights including the right to life, the outfit alleged.
After years of mass struggle, Inner Line Permit System was extended to Manipur only to clear the road for implementation of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA).
With the CCA now in force, ILPS has been rendered useless.
International humanitarian law says that occupying power cannot transplant its excess population in occupied territory.
As the international community cannot trust the Government of India and its judiciary regarding the CAA, the UNHRC has made it clear that it should be made a party when the country's highest Court deliberates on CAA.
This is a total exposure of the communal and parochial attitude of the Government of India, the outfit alleged.
While the whole world has been cooperating and coordinating with each other to defeat the COVID-19 pandemic, the Government of India has been scheming to consolidate its alleged occupation of Manipur, the outfit added.
