Beneficiaries to receive medical assistance under PMNRF

Sixteen beneficiaries from various places in hill and valley districts of Manipur are set to receive around Rs 31 lakh in medical assistance under the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund (PMNRF) on the recommendation of Rajya Sabha MP Leisemba Sanajaoba.
According to a statement, the Rajya Sabha MP thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for granting medical assistance to the 16 beneficiaries, adding that a total of Rs 30,96,500 had been granted by the Centre.
Further, he added that out of the total 16 beneficiaries from the State, ten are undergoing cancer treatment at present, four are renal transplant patients and two are undergoing aplastic anaemia treatment.
The titular king also expressed hope that die medical assistance will help the patients in their medical treatment and wished them a speedy recovery and healthy life.
It may be noted that PMNRF is the fund raised to provide support for people affected by natural and man made disasters.
Natural disasters covered under this include flood, cyclone, earthquake etc and man made disasters include major accidents, acid attacks, riots etc.
The fund is also allotted to people for treatment of diseases like cancer, kidney transplantation, heart surgery etc.
The fund is fully collected from the public and has no budgetary allocation from the Government, the statement concluded.
