Protest rallies taken out in connection with KM Abdullah's death

Manipur Muslim Welfare Organisation (MMWO), Bishnupur District Committee organised a mass protest meira rally against the alleged brutal killing of Kori Mayum Abdullah at Kwakta today.
The protest rally saw a big turn out with many people participating in the rally which was flagged off from Kwakta Bazar to reach Terakhongsangbi.
The protesting group made their way back to Kwakta Bazar where a public meeting was subsequently held.
During the rally, protestors shouted slogans and brandished placards with the messages "Justice for Kori Mayum Abdullah", "Hang the culprit", "We condemn the brutal killing of KM Abdullah" among others.
Speaking to media persons, general secretary of MMWO Bishnupur District Committee, Md Wahidur Rahaman urged the relevant authorities to take up the necessary steps to ensure that such a heinous crime does not occur in the future.
He also appealed for appropriate punishment to be meted out to the culprits and pleaded for the support of CSOs across the state.
Jamiatul Ulama Keibung and five local clubs of Keibung namely, Unique Youth Development Association, Keibung Wangmataba Society Development Organisation, Keibung Youth Development Club, Keibung Welfare Association and KMDA also organised a mass protest cum meira rally against the alleged killing of Kori Mayum Abdullah.
A joint statement issued by Jamiatul Ulama Keibung and the clubs have offered their support to the 48-hrs state-wide bandh called by the concerned JAC from the morning of May 27 .
The statement also strongly condemned the alleged brutal killing of KM Abdullah and vowed to support any measures undertaken by the JAC and other relevant authorities to deliver justice to the victim.
Separately, Lilong Youth Organisation has strongly condemned the alleged killing of Kori Mayum Abdullah and shared in the grief of the bereaved family.
The statement from LYO has urged the State Government to apprehend the individuals responsible for Md Abdullah's death and deliver appropriate punishment under the law.
LYO has also offered their unwavering support to the concerned JAC and further appealed to CSOs across the state to co-operate in bringing justice to the victim.
