Fresher's meet held, Commissioner inspects Polytechnique site

The Mount Everest College, Senapati held its XVIIth Fresher's Day at the college campus yesterday.
P Vaiphei, Commissioner (Higher Education) Govt of Manipur as chief guest; MLA Dr V Alexander PAO, who was the former principal and later elected as NPF candidate in the 47th Karong Constituency along with other dignitaries Th Oliver Monsang, OSD (Higher Education) Government of Manipur; T Ojit Singh (Joint Director, Higher Education, Government of Manipur); I Lokendrajit Singh (Superintending Engineer Education Engineering Wing) graced the occasion.
The Commissioner P Vaiphei along with MLA Alexander and other dignitaries accompanied by District social leaders inspected the site for construction of the Polytechnique Institute at Senapati TNK village.
Later the Commissioner personally inspected the DIET institute and interaction with the Staff and called for regular attendance of the students and officials.
Assuring to expedite the resuming of works at the Poly-technique institute, the Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the site and public support to construct the said institute.
The MLA briefed on the accessibility and benefits of the Institute location to the student's community of the District.
Victoria, on behalf of the College presented a Memorandum to the chief guest, which appealed him to advocate ensuring and assisting on early implementation of 'Grant in Aid' to the College by the State Government.
P Vaiphei also assured that he will seriously consider in order to provide financial assistance from the State Government.
Introspecting into the Tribals Students on the few takers, in Science and Maths subjects, the Government is trying to implement 'Polytechnique Institute' in the district, in order to encourage the students.
