Imphal, December 24 2015 :
While strongly condemning the bomb blast at Majorkhul last night, BJP MLA Kh Joykishan has stated that he would urge the Central Government to deploy CRPF or BSF personnel in Imphal city if the State Government is unable to make the area secure.
Joykishan went to Majorkhul today and inspected the blast site.
Citing frequent bomb explosions in the area, Joykishan remarked that the lives of Majorkhul people are not safe.
He then questioned the State Government's failure to make the CCTV cameras installed at Imphal city at the cost of several crores fully operational.
He also questioned the State Government's failure to nab any of the masterminds responsible for bomb blasts in Imphal city.
Joykishan said that he would write to the Union Ministry to deploy CRPF or BSF personnel in the city if the State Government is unable to make the bazar area secure.
Ahead of the by-election to Thangmeiband A/C and Thongju A/C, there were rumours about the Government threatening to remove security from Imphal city areas in case the bazar communities do not vote for Congress.
Now the BJP has won the by-election and if the bomb blast is related with the results of the by-election in any manner, it is really tragic, Joykishan added.
The Zeliangrong Union (ZU), Imphal Zone and Kabui Mothers' Association (KAMA), Manipur have also strongly condemned the bomb blast at Majorkhul yesterday at 11.30 pm.
ZU, Imphal Zone and KAMA, Manipur appealed to those responsible not to commit such act in the crowded area in future, according to a press release issued by the joint secretary and secretary of ZU, Imphal Zone and KAMA, Manipur.
