Capital punishment for informer : ZUF

Sathsiliu Gangmei (39), the main 'culprit' who was an active informer of the adversary has been given capital punishment today, stated a press release issued by secretary of Information & Publicity Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF), A Dangmei.
In her confessional statement, she disclosed that she was the one who informed the whereabouts of the ZUF cadres which led to the arrest and encounters of the ZUF cadres with the Assam Rifles recently, alleged the outfit.
She also confessed that she had informed the army about the plunder and confiscation of 25 lakh in cash and one plastic water container filled with ammunition on December 28, 2012 by 10 Assam Rifles at Longmai, the release added.
One of her fellow cadres had a narrow escape from the trap of the Assam Rifles on March 20, 2013 at the residence of Lumjiana Phaomei while another cadre namely, Daigong was nabbed along with one AK 56 while he was taking shelter in the same house.
The information of their presence was also passed on to the Assam Rifles by Sathsiliu, it further alleged.
Sathsiliu had an affair with one of the jawans of the 10 Assam Rifles posted at Longmai, through which she used to communicate with the AR jawan.
The villagers even warned her not to mingle with the jawan and to stop her demeaning behaviour.
She was also told to stop being an informer to the 10 Assam Rifles.
However, she never heeded the warnings, the statement said.
The release further stated that Lumjiana Phaomei and Lungjangngam Phaomei were also questioned due to their suspicious behavior, but were released later as there was no evidence of their involvement.
The outfit added that there are still some known informers who are working incognito under the influence and garb of the 10AR.Actions and punishments would be carried out if they do not mend their ways, it added.
