Education seminar held at Chandel

With a view to promote quality education in Chandel district, a one day seminar was organised by the Thadou Students' Association (TSA) Chandel district at Pallel High School today.
The seminar was attended by Headmasters and Headmistresses of Government and private schools located in Chandel district, college Principals, selected teachers, officials of Zonal Education Offices, social and student leaders and village chiefs.
Speaking at the inaugural session as chief guest, Chandel AC MLA Thangkholun Haokip said that holding a seminar for promoting quality education is commendable though it is little late.
Noting that Sugnu people had succeeded in imparting quality education to students some of whom have already succeeded in UPSC exams, Thangkholun underscored the need to struggle so as to bring Chandel district at par with other districts in terms of education.
Saying that it is too costly for people of Chandel district to send their children to other places for education, the MLA asserted that every one should take due responsibility in promoting quality education in Chandel district.
The inaugural session was attended by Chandel ADC Chairman Lhukhosei Zou as guest of honour and Kuki People Forum president L Mate as functional president.
In the technical session, Principal of Dr S Radhakrishnan Foundation School Tuibong , Dr HH Mate presented a paper on "Quality Education in Social and Economic Perspective" as MU Assistant Professor Dr Thathang Vaiphei presented another paper on "Economics of Education: Special Reference to the Tribals of Chandel District" .
