Union Home Minister P Chidambaram has convened a high level meeting at New Delhi on December 23 to discuss issues related to development of Imphal-Jiribam stretch of National Highway 53 being carried out by BRO.
The meeting was convened by the Union Minister after he heard the State Government and the BRO on the construction of the National Highway stretch during his two-day visit to Manipur.
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, Chief Secretary, Commissioner Works and Chief Engineer would be attended the meeting from the side of the State Government while the BRO would be represented by its DG and other higher officials.
It may be noted that the State Government had earlier submitted a report to the Union Home Minister after sending a team of engineers to assess the condition of the road for necessary construction work.
