Chandel chiefs against implementation of scheme through MSRDA

Village chiefs and chairmen under Tengnoupal Block of Chandel district strongly opposed the State Government's policy to implement MG-NREGS through Manipur State Rural Development Agency (MSRDA) and decried for not releasing 20 days wages and material components of MG-NREGS for the last financial year 2012-13 .
According to a press statement signed by Tm Holkhokhai Haokip, President and Sk Angshel Lamkang, general secretary of Village Chiefs and Chairmen Association, Tengnoupal Block, the decision to oppose the State Government's policy to implemnent MG-NREGS through MSRDA was taken during a general body meeting held yesterday at H Wajang village.
During the meeting, the chiefs and chairmen also resolved to accept the 14 days wages and components of MG-NREGS 2013-14 in view of the forth coming Christmas festival in spite of its earlier demand to release 50 days before Christmas.
The association also slammed the State Government for not releasing the remaining 20 days wages and Material components of MG-NREGS for the financial year 2012-13 while appealing the concerned authority to releasing the same within December 2013 .
Further, the Association also warned to launch a series of agitation including indefinite bandh along the National Highways if the concerned authority fails to consider their demands and appeals.
