Juvenile sent to observation home

An underaged youth who allegedly assaulted a 30-year-old woman has been sent to Observation Home Takyelpat after being produced before the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal East today.
The alleged accused was produced before the Court by a team of Heingang police station, who prayed for judicial custody remand for the former.
The Court heard the prayer and perused the case diary.
Defence counsel of the alleged accused filed an application of remand objection and submitted a relevant paper, stating that the alleged accused is an underaged youth (juvenile) .
The defence counsel produced Class X certificate, birth certificate and Adhaar card of the alleged accused in support of the submission.
After hearing submissions of both the counsels, the Court passed an order to send the alleged accused to Observation Home Takyelpat.
Mention may be made that the incident was reported on February 11 at around 6.05 am.
It is said that the alleged accused spent a whole night with the victim woman in a rented house at Mantripukhri Marylane under Heingang police station.
According to sources, the underaged youth stabbed the woman multiple times on her back following an argument over a matter.
He was arrested by Heingang police the same day.
The victim woman is undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity, the sources said.
