CrPC imposed in Imphal East

Imphal, May 08 2015 :
District Magistrate Imphal East District informed the general public that prohibitory orders under section 144 CrPC are imposed three months in the Imphal East areas beginning from 6 am of May 7 to 6am of July 8 .
In a order issued by District Magistrate Imphal East, M Joy it was said that there is likelihood of causing serious breach of peace, disturbance of public tranquility and grave danger to human lives and properties in the area.
In exercise of powers conferred on him the District magistrate prohibits assembly of five or more persons which is likely to turn unlawful in the areas which is described in the schedule and also prohibit carrying of sticks, stones, firearms and weapons of any other description which can be used as offensive weapons within the scheduled area from May 8, 6am to July 7, 6 am.
The order shall not apply to the agencies of the Government involved in the enforcement of law and order and the maintenance of essential services.
Further persons, who want to take out procession, public meeting, rally, etc within the scheduled area, may apply to the district magistrate for permission and they shall not take out procession, meeting, etc until the permission is obtained by them.
The order is imposed in whole area under the jurisdiction of Imphal East District including Jiribam.
