Imphal, September 06 2015:
Tribal People's Organisation, Manipur (TPOM) has urged the Central Govt to impose President's Rule in the State in order to bring normalcy to the already tense and volatile situation in hill districts of the State following the passing of three Bills by the State Assembly.
Intervention of Centre at this juncture is urgently required in this restless State so that law and order is restored, said a statement issued by the president of TPOM, Joel Korhu.
For the last 13 years, TPOM has been making persistent demand for separate tribal statehood through submission of countless memoranda and personal meetings with officials of Union Home Ministry.
It also appealed to the tribal leaders of the State to join hands with TPOM in its demand for separate tribal State.
