ATMA shares expertise with farmers at Senapati

Continuing with its endeavour to share expertise with the local farmers, update on the latest agricultural equipment and provide them high yielding seeds, Agriculture Technology Management Assistance (ATMA), Senapati district reached out to farmers of Phuba Thapham, one of the most remote villages, located under Paomata Block of Tadubi sub-division in Senapati district on February 5 .
As a part of ATMA Senapati's Extension activities ATMA Project Director M Gojendro Singh, along with subject expert Dr M Thoithoi Singh, who is also Project Co-ordinator KVK, Thoubal and Officer in-charge (Plant Health Clinic), Sanjenthong Kh Nimaichand Singh held interaction with more than 80 farmers of the village on the improved management practices of Rabi crops during a training programme conducted at the village yesterday.
Phuba Thapham, with more than 90 percent of the population directly involved in agricultural activities to sustain their livelihood, had the rare opportunity for the first time in 2025 years, to interact with the subject experts of ATMA.
Apart from disseminating relevant information on various problems highlighted by the local farmers with regard to problems faced in cultivating different crops in their fields, ATMA Senapati officials also distributed Hybrid Maize and Paddy seeds to the farmers attended the training programme.
Conveying gratitude to the ATMA team for invaluable agricultural tips and distribution of the hybrid seeds, village Pastor Sheleon, on behalf of the village, desired that more such training programmes be conducted in their village.
He also wished for continued support from the team for the development of agriculture in the village in future.
