KSO TB draws Govt's attention

The Kuki Students' Organization, Twilang Block, IT road has drawn the attention of the State Government and the State Education Department in connection with the alleged shortage of teachers in various educational institutions in the area.
Paochunglen Hangshing, general secretary, KSO Twilang Block said that a team of KSO Twilang Block recently visited educational institutions located in Twilang (IT Road) area and found many Government schools without teachers.
He continued that, West Joupi Primary School, which was established under EGS, Government of India in November, 2012 has no teacher till date.
Chief of West Joupi Onkai Haokip said that after West Joupi Primary School was established, Anuradha and Lovely Kamjong were appointed as teachers.
However, both of them were transferred in 2013, said Paochunglen.
He continued that Govajang Primary School has only one teacher.
T Waichong High School (above 700 students), Irang Part-II Government High School (above 300 students), Chalwa High School (above 300 students), Thonglang Akutpa High School (above 300 student) and Gelnel High School (above 400 students) were recently upgraded from junior high schools but have shortage of teachers.
"Considering the academic career of the students, the State Government should initiate immediate steps and provide adequate teachers to these schools," he said.
KSO will not remain a mute spectator over the deplorable education system in the area in case the State Government fails to take up appropriate steps, Paochunglen warned.
