The threat issued by two SPF Ministers along with some MLAs to step down if the Govt fails to lift the disturb area status from the State within August 15 still remains firm and intact, said Oinam A/C MLA L Radhakishore.
Mention may be made here that some political leaders which included Govindas Konthoujam, Alauddin and MLAs N Biren, K Ranjit, Bijoy Koijam, Vivek Raj and Radhakishore had threatened to resign from their post if Chief Minister O Ibobi does not lift the disturb area status from the State within August 15 during a meeting Manorama's family members on July 22 at the later's residence.
Talking to mediapersons today, Radhakishore said that nothing except lifting of the disturb area status from the State will make them change their decision.
He also said that the list of Ministers and MLAs who have threatened to resign have risen to eight with the joining of Nambol A/C N Loken and added that more MLA's have expressed their willingness to join the list.
Informing that the Ministers and MLAs are in constant touch with the CM who is presently in New Delhi, Radhakishore said that they have even asked CM O Ibobi to return immediately and take a final decision on the issue before the law and order condition spins out of control.
He also stated that future of the present Cong led SPF Govt will largely depend on the stand taken by the CMr after his return from New Delhi because any wrong move on the part CM will lead to down fall of the SPF Govt. While condemning burning of his effigy inside his own compound by angry protestors on July 31, Radhakishore further clarified that none of his escort personnel had fired any rounds during the incident.
