Tangkhul Katamnao Saklong(TKS) has strongly condemned the act of Captain Akshat Choudhary, Commander of 17 Assam Rifles E Coy check-post at Kashung village wherein one injured person was unnecessary detained at the check-post, reports our correspondent.
According to the statement, late Malungam Ringyami s/o Isaac Hungyo of K Ashang Khullen died because of the unnecessary detention at Kashung village check-post by Commander Akshat who was allegedly in inebriated state.
Commander Akshat allegedly refused to grant passage to the vehicle carrying Malungam who had accidentally shot himself with a licensed SBBL gun.
Although Commander Akshat was aware of the condition, he defiantly detained the injured and the accompanying people by asking irrelevant questions.
Though, they were let off, Malungam succumbed to his injury on the way to hospital.
TKS questioned Commander Akshat under whose authority he has dominance over the lives of the poor villagers.
It also alleged Commander Akshat of violating the Constitution and trampling the rights of the people.
The pain and suffering he has caused to the bereaved family members cannot be equated with anything, the statement added.
It further alleged the AR personnel posted at Kashung village check-post of harassing the villagers especially denying passage while commuting.
TKS appealed to the authority concerned to probe and terminate Commander Akshat who had disregarded the rights of the
citizens.
