AR organises Security Meet and Lecture

Imphal, March 01 2021:
Mantripukhri and Keithalmanbi Battalions of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) organised village Security Meet and conducted an informative lecture on the ongoing 'Swarnim Vijay Varsh' celebrations at Wairi Village and Lilong of Imphal East and Thoubal District respectively.
As part of its continued efforts to organise security meets to ensure Assam Rifles troops work in close synergy with the local population and create environment of peace and stability, Keithalmanbi Battalion of IGAR (S) organised a village Security Meet at Lilong, Thoubal District.
As part of Security Meet, Unit interacted with the local population to know about the local apprehensions on various security issues.
The forum was also used as a platform to inform local population about the current security situation in the area and encourage locals to report any activities of proscribed groups to ensure their intensions are not fulfilled.
In addition, taking the opportunity of the platform available, the Unit also organised an informative presentation and lecture on the 'Swarnim Vijay Varsh' duly highlighting the heroics of the Indian Army in 1971 which resulted in a decisive and comprehensive victory and led to creation of Bangladesh.
In a similar event organised by MantripukhriBattion of 9 Sector AR, an Awareness lecture was conducted by the Battalion on the ongoing COVID vaccination drive in the State.
In addition, the lecture on 'Swarnim Vijay Varsh' at Wairi Village, Imphal East District was also conducted.
At both locations, Units also discussed issues with respect to the development projects which Assam Rifles can follow up as part of their Civic Action Projects.
A total of 70 locals attended the program.
