Imphal, February 01 2021:
Student and youth wings of the Congress staged a sit-in protest against fuel price hike at Malom Oil Depot today.
Congress workers, members and volunteers of the Manipur Pradesh Youth Congress Committee, National Students' Union of India (NSUI), Manipur and Seva Dal took part in the protest.
The protesters held placards demanding the NDA Government in Centre to bring down the prices of petrol, diesel and LPG.
During the protest, one of the volunteers said the "anti-people" policies of the BJP-led NDA Government has affected all, especially the middle class and the poor.
Sky high fuel price has impacted all.
Providing free LPG connection to people has no meaning if the price is not affordable.
The Government should bring down the price of the fuel, make it reasonable and more affordable.
"Modi's ache din has become a burden for the people," said the protester.
MPYCC general secretary, S Johny Meetei condemned the NDA Government for the high fuel price and said even students are facing the brunt of the Government policies.
The high price of petrol and diesel has hiked the fares of passenger vehicles.
This has not only affected vehicle owners and commuters but also the students who commute on passenger vehicles to go to schools and colleges.
He appealed to the Government to make the fuel including LPG more affordable.
