MLA Mangibabu takes up measures to address water scarcity

MLA of Thanga Assembly Constituency T Mangibabu has taken up several measures to solve the problem of water scarcity being faced by the people of his constituency.
Mangibabu along with the officials of Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) took stock of the current situation of water scarcity at various places under Thanga A/C today.
Talking to media persons on the sidelines of the inspection programme, MLA Mangibabu said that water from Loktak Lake and other water bodies has been pumped to various ponds to ensure continued availability of water to the people for daily usage.
Moreover, large capacity water tankers would be used to distribute treated drinking water to the public shortly.
The State Cabinet has also resolved to take up immediate measures to resolve the present water crisis.
The department concerned would start distributing bleaching power, alum and limestone to the public for treatment of water at their households.
The Government would try to collect water from all available sources and distribute it to the public at the earliest possible time, Mangibabu assured.
