Breaking the deadlock and political dilemma that lasted for more than a month, the Okram Ibobi Singh led Congress Government is set to expand its Ministry by inducting eight Cabinet Ministers tomorrow.
A reliable source told The Sangai Express that Singjamei A/C MLA I Hemochandra, Patsoi A/C MLA AK Mirabai, Lilong A/C MLA Nasir, Heirok A/C MLA M Oken, Tadubi A/C MLA Francis Ngajokpa, Saitu A/C MLA A Ngamthang Haokip, Lamlai A/C MLA Kshetri Biren and Bishnupur A/C MLA Govindas Konthoujam are the eight MLAs who are most likely to be inducted.
The source added, MLAs who could not get Cabinet Ministers would be given the charge of Parliamentary Secretaries.
Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh had deliberations with former Ministers and his close aides K Ranjit and N Biren at his office chamber this morning, the source added.
The Chief Minister is likely to call on Governor Gurbachan Jagat prior to the swearing-in ceremony tomorrow morning.
Upon enquiring about the Cabinet expansion, Home Minister Gaikhangam said that Ministry expansion is the Chief Minister's responsibility.
However, he said that posts of Parliamentary Secretaries would be given to some MLAs who could not get Ministership.
