12 picked up for violating Government orders in Kpi

Kangpokpi, March 24 2020:
Following the announcement of lockdown and imposition of 144 CrPC in the District, Kangpokpi police enforced the order at Kangpokpi DHQs.
Twelve individuals violating the Government orders have been picked up from the street and brought to the station.
They were later released after signing PR Bond with a strict warning.
According to OC Kangpokpi, Kangpokpi police will ensure strict implementation of lockdown and 144 CrPC under the supervision of SP Kangpokpi.
He also said, "We will ensure that not a single vehicle both two-wheeler and four-wheelers ply along the Highway from tomorrow".
He continued that violators will be strictly deal with as per the law of the land.
Meanwhile, District Magistrate Kangpokpi, Lalithambigai Kalidas, who is also the Deputy Commissioner Kangpokpi in exercise of the powers conferred under Section 144 of CrPC 1973 prohibited any type of movement of people outside their residence in the whole Kangpokpi District with immediate effect until further order.
It stated that any persons found violating the prohibitory order will be punished under Section 188 IPC.
However, the order shall not apply to the agencies of the Government involved in the maintenance of law and order and essential services.
On the other hand, two individuals have been found travelling together with the reported first COVID-19 positive victim of Manipur in Kangpokpi District.
The District Administration immediately swung into action and identified the two individuals.
According to source, among the two individuals, one is from Nungka village and the other one is from Sadu Koireng both under Saikul Sub Division.
